How do good runners feel when they do the 1500?
Do they go out hard, and feel like they are red lining in from 800 meters out?
What is the best way to run a 1500?
(I've run 4:04 but wonder how the better runners race the event).

You run even.
You are not red lining at 800 but you have to put in more effort that 3rd lap to keep the same pace.
Hitting the 800m split was always tough for me either for lack of confidence in keeping the pace or not being quite fit enough.
Once I hit 800 in 2 flat or better I was always able to keep it going.
Do you think a good split at 800 makes you super confident? That's how I feel, I want to keep going at the same pace if my 800 split is fast. If it's slow, I automatically lose confidence and slow down, but it seems to hurt more.
