There should be some way to deal with imposters posing as others (I find it interesting that about 3 have just popped up -- Paula, Alan Culpepper, and KK).
I don't know if there's anything software-wise that can be done, but I think it's an issue the Johnson Brothers need to address.

registration, especially under one's actual name, would bring a good deal more credibility to this board. total volume of posts would drop, but the signal to noise ratio would improve greatly. with the amount of drug accusations going on, imposters popping up, pr's being fibbed on, etc. it's just gotten to the point where it's difficult to believe anything read on these boards. societies based on lies do not last, i think kant preached something to that effect. anyhow, i'm dropping my handle of "Legalizit" after this post, and will now be posting as "Joseph M. Wiley", i sincerely hope, though do not expect, others will follow suit.

There are many ways to find out where a poster is located, but there are just as many ways to get around that if you are somewhat computer savvy.
The Bros can always IP ban, or use someone?s host domain as a locator, but by using a proxy (or multiple proxies strung together) you can make it almost impossible to track you down (at least you can make it very time consuming). Off course many people don't have a static IP address, and banning an IP submask might hurt more people than the user in question.
The best way is to have a registration on the forum that requires your name and e-mail (hotmail and yahoo mail accounts should not allowed) and then you need to confirm your registration using that e-mail address.
