Totally agree - what a superb run by Mccolgan...well impressed!!!
McColgan is the most over-rated (mostly hyped by herself and her bitterness towards Radcliffe) marathoner of our time. She never held even the GBR record, let alone even won her hometown London race. Her times now show themselves as soft, many years later, where Yama would defeat her easily.

She isn't even English - so how is London her hometown?
I think she won quite a few races in Dundee though!
I'll grant you she was a bit of a moody cow, however she was a top athlete and her performance today shows she still has a lot of talent. And her victory in the World Champs 10k in 91 was an awesome run.
she won london in 1996 and second in 1998.
She also got silver at olympics, Gold at Worlds, 2 commie golds one brinze and won 3 major marathons
Not overated really.
Get your facts right.
shes not a moody cow, how can u say that when u dont know her?
also broke 8 world records.

how do you know I don't?
:)
here is the great example of the hyprocricy of lets runner haters....this prat obviously has much hatred of liz mccolgan...does not know she is scottish and never lived in london...and why would he even enter this link if he hates her so much? why?...i have never entered a how fast could lance run this thread because it doesn't interest me...liz mcolgan is a superb athlete but the prat can't even give her that...
i dont but if u knew her u wud know she isnt a moody cow.
In prep for this race she has done some of these sessions
12x400/30 secs rest in 74/75
5x1000m/60 secs rest in 3:07
exaclty.
i dont know her personality so i am not defending that, but when you say her times have proved themself to be soft. the person can only be compared to the era they ran in, example a lot of posters here have probably run the marathon faster than clarence demar, but i think demar is a legend for winning boston 7 times, while people that have run much faster timewise than demar, will never have a possibility of winning the boston marathon, we may now marvel at paul tergat 20455 and/or radcliffes 21525, but there may come a time, who knows in 20 or 50 or 100 years where those times will be looked at as slow, but they had the best time up to that point in history.
PICZ PLEZZZZZ!!

er... what's that got to do with whether or not she is a moody cow?
I satnd by my contention that she was a great athlete but not the friendliest person in the world.

There was a World Champs 10k in 1991? How did I miss that?
