Let's hear about some famous ones and some not so famous.

The most obvious one is Robert Cheryiut at the Chicago Marathon last year.
It was just as he stretched out his arms that Cheruiyot fell at Chicago. I see he did the same celebration today. If I had been watching the live broadcast I would have been nervous when I saw his arms go up.

Stember's prelim gold medal victory move was the worst.
Webb's high pitched finals victory scream was in direct contrast to his buff countenance.
(BTW - dude should just shave his head and grow a goatee already)
who was that sprinter ass who turned around and gave the rest of the field the little "come hither" finger thing? what a douche.
The Airplane
Distance Runners always have crap Celebrations. Very weak, no real intention. A smile, and one hand in the air same thing everytime.
Sprinters have the best Celebrations.
WORST:
Flagpole Willy's Star-Shoe-Shimmy-Shuffle when he crossed the line at the Oak Harbor Invitational.
This is a few years ago but before the race was over (about 10m left) in the MIAC (Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) 200m, some a-hole named Carson Glad from the University of St. Thomas (MN) raised his index-finger for the #1 sign as he crossed the finish line. Granted that son of a bitch choked at nationals that year so we all felt a little better because of it.
Mo Greene putting out the fire in his spikes with a fire extinguisher. i thought that was clever.

That would be my favorite.

Scott Fry actually wouldn't have seen any celebration on my part because he was so pissed he jumped the fence and ran through the streets.
Also, in victory, I never celebrated. Celebrating is for the Olympic games or if you've never won before. I wasn't in the Olympic games and I've won plenty of times. Actually, the first time I won a race I was so shocked that the idea of celebrating didn't cross my mind. Just like in football, the guy with the touchdown should just hand the ball to the referee -- shows you've been there before.

I agree that Sprinters usually have more firey, entertaining celebrations...but I think that distance runners are usually a little too exhausted to go screaming and hopping about after they cross the line.
The best that I've seen was Meseret Defar's after breaking the 5000m WR in New York last year. Just pure joy.
You gotta love El G's collapse on the ground after the 1500m i n Athens.
El G after winning the 5000 in Athens put up the two fingers and exclaimed "Two?!" I def got chills, esp. after the 1500.
Cragg and Lincoln finishing hand in hand in the NCAA 10000 was cool.
Rupp lifting outstretched arms up and down as to ask for more noise when he set the AJR in the 10000 at Hayward was pretty sick.
go to the photo gallery, 2nd row, 3rd column. hands in the air and 2nd place is on the ground. i was with him one time with a bunch of elementary kids and he told them (while holding up the picture) "this is what happens to people when they try to beat me."
He didn't win but Rui Silva in the last 50 meters of the 1500m during Athens was one of my favorite celebrations of all time (it helps that I was born in Portugal).
There's a terrific photo of him with his arms draped around Lagat, smiling, while Lagat looks shocked/spent and Hicham is in the foreground dropping to his knees.
Hicham El Guerrouj making the "2" sign after winning the 5k as well was also good.
mark lewis-francis's psycho-esque face when GB opened a can of whoopass on gatlin, greene, crawford and miller (?) in athens.
ben johnson's hand up 5m out when running 9.79 would have been up there if it wasnt for the obvious!
and a controversial choice i'm sure, but the one that makes me come out in goose pimples every time i see it, has to be mexico 68 and smith, carlos and martin on the rostrum. that's if it counts as a celebration.
what about when El G played air guitar after crossing the line
