Where are all the haters now?
Liberty's coaches must be doing something wrong over there right?

That is amazing, but I think the haters, in general, hate because they know he wont be able to reproduce that come Nats time. But I hope he proves them (and me) wrong.
McDougal now has a shot at Ritz's American collegiate 10k record.

What is the Olympic A-Standard?
The Olympic A-standard is 13:21.5.
Great run by Josh, it would be even better to see him go 13:25 or so to win NCAA's!
it was a great run, and i'm glad to see him have success. however, if rohatinsky still has track eligibility, he was only 5 seconds back, and has had better results in tactical races such as NCAAs

That honkey (JM) would easily lap your IQ.

Unlikely, but if he does, he will be in rare company -- and all alone.

Hey, it's a far cry from 2000 and 2004 when we had guys struggling to hit the Olympic A standard. Now we're seeing collegians do it. Great run by McDougal.
If McDougal doesn't win NCAAs this year he'd have to be considered the biggest choker of all time.
Huge run by McDougal. Now I'd like to see what he can do for 10k. There's no doubt in my mind that he is capable of running sub 28, but he might even be able of eclipsing Ritzenhein's collegiate record of 27:38. But whether he runs the 5000m or the 10k, he should have a good shot at winning either, especially if his speed continues to improve like it has been. I mean, at the end of last track season, Solinsky was running 3:57 for a mile, but McDougal ran 3:57 a week or two ago, solo, and this is about 8-9 weeks out from NCAA's, so who know what's possible with him. Jimmerson must be doing a good job with him. Congrats to him and everyone else who had huge PR's at Mt.SAC.
I don't think that it is fair to say mcdougal would be the biggest choker of all time if he didn't win NCAA's... Rohatinksy (sp?) was only five seconds behind him at Mt. SAC. Solinsky's PR is under 13:30 as well.
More importantly, both of those guys have something McDougal doesn't... NCAA titles. Not only do they have strong PR's in time trial-style races (which is what Mt. Sac, Stanford etc. are), they've already proven they can win in the big meets.
McDougal has proven he can run fast with or without competition, in big meets or at shitty liberty hosted meets. He's yet to prove he can win in a national final.
Until he's proven he has that ability, it wouldn't be fair to label him a choker if he falls short at Nationals... actually, it would be pretty par for the course for rest of his career... fast times early, but no win come NCAA time.
The guy just dropped a 3:57 solo mile. He's not going to get much faster or sharper. He's hitting his stride right now, and I'm glad he ran so fast, but I hope he really delivers a big-time 10k at Stanford, because I think he will fade from there.

I'll 'fess up. I bashed the coaches a couple of months ago.
holy sh!t. how did Nick Willis get to #6 all time? That must have been...what...his second 5k? Pretty amazing. i always forget how talented he is. 1.45 pace plus #6 in the NCAA 5k!? wow...

You really think that's a fair assessment?....given Solinsky's track record in championships?
Amazing! I wonder if he has a chance to break 13:00 this year?
