I love Speedstar 1 and do all my track workouts in them. I am wondering what shoes are similar to them out there? Does the Speedstar 2 have the same cushioning feel?
What shoes off the track would you train in for long runs, Trail runs and track races that have a similar feel to Speedstars?
Speedstar 2 is very similar to Speedstar 1. If you love the first Speedstars, you'll like the second one. If anything, the second version is a little lighter than the first, with pretty much the same amount of cushion.
II is ever so slightly more narrow and ever so slightly more firm and a tiny bit lighter
footstrike on pavement feels a tiny bit different with the differetn duo-sole pattern
i've done fast work, trail runs, and 5 marathons in them.
only drawback i see in the shoe is the porous upper makes for cold feet on a damp cold day and a good bit of dirt gets in the shoe during trail runs
What other shoes do you or have you trained in and like especially on trails or wet days?
Are you as happy with the Speedstar 2 as you were with the 1. I have been injury prone in the past and have had a lot of success with the speedstar 1 and make sure the 2 is a good idea.
