Does anyone have any suggestions about where to meet runners after they cross the finish line? I know the finish area is blocked off to spectators. Also, where would I park? I know most of the roads are closed in the area.

After runners cross the finish line, they have to walk about 2 blocks to Berkeley Street and take a right. The first intersection they'll come to (Berkeley/St. James) is the family meeting area.
As far as parking, you're better off taking public transportation into/out of the area.
If your family is driving (e.g. watches you in Newton and will drive in), establish a destination such as Charles St between the Common and Public Garden. If they can't find a place to park while waiting for your arrival, they can do easy loops. Find a statue or corner. You will need to walk a bit more, but you move away from the crowds.

Unless it's Doc Brown's DeLorean Time Machine the guy is looking to park, then the Eliot Lounge is unavailable as a meeting place. It was closed in the 1990s.
