It's a funny thing. I always bought "road shoes". But, whenever I run, I generally try to avoid the roads. Grass, soft gravel shoulders, trails, track, dirt roads...this is what makes up 80% of my running surfaces.
Also, I thought trail shoes were clunky and cumbersome. The Mizuno Wave Ascends are certainly not this way!
I did a short test run in them last night (on trails and paved roads), and a 74min run in them today (on dirt roads, soft shoulders, and a bit of paved road), AND I ADORE THEM!!!
(I swear, this is not product placement.)
Plus, they are built sturdier, even thought hey are light and lovely. Even on paved roads they feel better for me than my previous shoes.
I'm shocked to find that I love trail shoes this much. I don't think I'll ever go back to "road shoes" for regular training.
Am I the only letsrunner who has had this eye opening experience?
Discuss.
