Since I don't have WCSN or live in England I am alot confused by the postings and results. Bekele drops out after miscounting laps? Enough Ethiopians drop out that they don't have a team score (IAAF results)? There was mention that the course wasn't done 30 hours before the race. Was this a logistical mistake on the part of the organizers? Perhaps Bekele really can't count laps (i.e. Boston 2 years ago)? Help me please!!!
He didn't miscount, he was already fading badly under the Mombasa heat.
There is a rumour going on in the internets that Bekele miscounted the laps.
I am also confused.
What happened?
From what I am able to hear, Bekele was running step by step besides Tadesse. What happened in the last kilometre?
Would someone please clarify this.

bekele broke awaya nd kicked very hard on 2nd to last lap, with about 200m left of that lap he asked peopple at the suide how laps were left, he then came to an almost total standstill and let tadesse catch him,. he ran with him for abut a minute tried to break away coukldnt, ta=desse hit the front bekele struggled for a few minutes then stopped. refused medical treatment and just jogged around for a while on the inside of the course then started walking round waving to the crowd!
he also was making gestures to the camera during the early stages of the race possibly something about not being handed water when he tried to get it or about the kenyans pushing him around a little. he looked very aggitated at times

Bekele was listening to Letsrun tough kids and went too hard too early. He faded and before the last lap Tadesse already had a huge lead on him. With that kind of heat all bets were off anyway.
