or anybody (no pun intended) else out there who has the Teva Proton shoes. I was wondering about the weight of the shoe, say size 9 or 10. Can you tell me?
Also, if you've been using the shoes for some time, how are they holding up??? Do you guys run in the road in them?

I have a pair that I got in April. I wear them for walking all the time and a few days a week wear them for a mile or so at the end of a run for a total of 5 mpw on trail running. I find I get a lot of calf-strengthening benefit out of walking in them, and I'm trying to really ease into them, as in over a few years. So far, very little wear to the sole. They hold up pretty well, partly I think because you come down lighter when wearing them.
I got a pair last week. Wore them for 2 miles after a 10 mile workout. I felt every rock on the trail. They are very light and very thin.

i was also curious about the weight. what's your guess? lighter than racing flats???
i haven't weighed them, so i can't give you an exact number, but the ultra-thin, ultra-durable "spider rubber" that makes up the bottom is pretty heavy. I'd say they weigh the same as most of my flats, in the 6 oz. range. I doubt I'll ever run full-time in them, but I think at least a few miles a week in them (plus all my walking) is a great to build up foot, ankle, and arch strength, plus teach you to stride lighter.
are you insane? these things are water shoes....commonly called aqua socks. how...and why would you run in these things.
Because we weren't born wearing shoes and they are about as close as you can get to going barefoot without health risks.
