Can you run faster than your boyfriend/or hubby in a 5k?
and does it bother him?

Yep, but no it doesn't bother him. Him and I are into completely different things and have completely different body types--me, petite, runs sub-18 min 5Ks, him--more than twice my size, muscular, ex-football player, can bench 310 pounds and curl 110.
Yup, and I think it really bothered him. Probably part of the reason he is no longer my BF. When it ended, he said things like "you will never have a BF since running has to come before everything." This was wrong, I worked my schedule around what we both wanted to do. He was not put out in any way. He is about a 22 min 5ker and I am high 19's. We tried training runs together and he would go out on the first mile at 7 min pace and die and it would just drive me crazy and piss me off. I was just out for easy distance and he always tried to turn it into some race. I am not sure why I could not just sit back there and let him go and die. It would have been cool if we could have just gone out and done training runs at 8 min/pace but it never worked out that way.
Actually, I just ran faster than him last weekend at a 4mile race. He didn't like it, of course it bothers him, so he ran fast during his next run and now he can't run at alll because he hurt his knee. Boys are silly.
What?! You will never get a bf because running has to come before everything?! Well sista, good luck to him getting another gf with his jackass attitude.
