I've read a lot of threads about runners who take a significant amount of time off (a year or longer) and state they are going to get back into the sport. However, I've never really heard any results of such efforts. I am pondering my own comeback after about two years off and I'm wondering what to expect. I'm in my mid 20s (stopped running after college) and I think I can improve upon my college times. I'm interested to know if anyone on this board has made a true comeback and what have been the results?
At what age did you make your comeback and after how much time off?
Were you able to get back to the level of running you were at before you initially stopped running? If so, how long did that take?
I'd be interested in hearing anyone's experiences with this.
