I ran the 1600 at an all-comers meet today, and my time was 5:03.5. However, I ran it wearing trainers, so I'm wondering how a 1600m in trainers converts to a 1600m time in spikes.
Just curious, because I wanted to know whether I could have gone sub 5 today in the 1600 (not mile).
I don't kno if this makes a difference, but the race was on an all-weather Mondo track, not on a dirt track.
not stupid, dont matter..what maters is if by the end of the season you go sub 5 or even sub 450
i'd say you could've dropped a few seconds. just relax, you got in a good time trial today. evaluate it with your coach, find your strengths and weaknesses and develop your weaknesses into strengths. get some spikes that fit well, are comfortable to run in, and that should help you out.
