I've gained weight recently and started dieting. I'm not running right now because of an injury, but I still am somewhat active during the day. I'm 19 years old, 5'11, 164lbs. I started eating 1600 calories a day but nothing happened. I then started eating about 1300 calories a day and nothing happened. Then I started eating 1100-1200 calories a day since this is supposed to be the minimum you should ever eat, but I still didn't lose weight. I feel pretty much fine other than never being hungry.
Could I have hypothyroidism, or has my metabolism just really (REALLY) slowed down? Is there a difference? Should I go to get a blood test?
