so, i know things with partially hydrogenated (insert oil here) in them are supposed to be horrible for you...but what is the deal really? are these hydrogenated fats really as bad as everyone says they are? seems to me like this is just another craze, like the whole "no fat, all fat is bad" craze, only to find out later that some fats are "good fats" like fats in salmon and dark chocolate. will the news come out later that some partially hydrogenated fats are good for you? or just not as bad as we expected they were? is it really worth inspecting labels and not eating any prepackaged food that has them in it (granola bars, wheat thins, bisquick, etc) or should we just continue to do this and limit our intake?
