You don't say how much recovery she is taking in between those 4x400s. If she's taking enough time for a cup of tea and a bun, it wouldn't be so tough to run 62s...

And get real, she is not running 6 min/miles for 75 mins "three times per week, twice per day" at 7,300 ft.

not that unbelievable when she can run the last lap of a 10k in 57s. But yes, she could run an amazing 1500, and 800! What could she run? sub 2 and sub 4 for sure, but much quicker could be expected off that sort of last lap. I would think that very few can kick the last lap of a fast 10k at 800 pace, but that would give her 1.54! their kick is out of this world. or is she just SO comfortable running at 30.20 pace, that she could go miles quicker?

Where is trackhead?

I would love to see her run an 800m or 1500m, but I think it takes her awhile to get into rhythm. Would love to see her stump all the russian chicks.

I can hear the Lydiard fanclub screaming: "You can´t be a world class distance runner with anything less than 100 mile weeks! She probably doesn´t count her warm ups and cool downs!" etc. People said the same thing about Coe, remember? It didn´t help that M. Bakken, who had his training diaries, told us what Coe´s training was like. Many refused to believe it, although they didn´t have one piece of evidence to support their beliefs.

A far as i understand:

3 days of doubles(totalling 70-80min)

3 days of track workouts

1 day rest

3x12-13m+3x6-10m(can't be much with such short workouts like 4x400m)=~50-60miles

Surprising, i thought all ethiopian training was based on Geb's training. Doubles everyday. 5x200 and 4x400 seems more like strides done after a distance run.

But Tirunesh could be doing like 60 miles a week and her rival Defar 100 miles and still race about the same times. Tirunesh seems to have more natural talent.

No, 3 days of doubles (at 70-80min). That's 70-80 in the morning and 70-80 in the evening.

You will never meet an Ethiopian who talks about their mileage in terms of distance, just minutes and hours. Notice the mote of caution from her manager on this statement (translation is always an issue).

And can we give the Coe shit a rest? Remember the quote of the day a few years back? "I was running over 100 miles per week..."

i doubt she runs 100 miles a week she is so young, they say she is 21, but she looks younger than that. i know a lot of people will say the african runners are older than they say, but in her case she looks younger than 21. i know a college cross country coach who only has his runners do 30-40 miles a week and those college girls are about tirunesh dibaba's age.

She's 21yrs old. Born 1st June 1985, according to IAAF.

Sporting-Heroes.net claims 1st June 1984 (22yrs old).
