I've never run a track race before, only road races and xc. What would you wear for a 3k indoors: miler XCs, or road flats?

anybody?
Assuming you're spending enough training time in the XC's, then go with those. I find "flats" to be a bit too "soft" on an indoor surface when considering the tight nature of the turns etc.
No training, but I've run 8 and 10k xc races in them. That's what I'll go with.
Back in the day, I ran in the Nike (spikeless) waffle racer for 3K and up - indoors, outdoors and XC (as long as it was not too muddy) - spikes, no matter how much I practiced in them always tore my feet up for days. Once I ran in the waffle racer, I never went back.
