I heard fast-twich muscles skip a generation and if two really fast runners create offspring...the child or children will have greater chance of genetic mutation and have far greater chance of being really really retarded.

Charles Jenkins and his son Chip are the only father-son to run in 4x400's at the Olympics. Chip wasn't that much better that his dad, although I don't know of course what the mother's background is.
Are these type of genes inherited from both parents?
I dunno, from what I understand you inherit athletic capability from the mother, not the father (its all about the eggs), but that could just be for endurance sports.
Speaking of potential fast kids, I remember about 15 years ago that Yobes Ondiecki (a Kenyan who won Bay to Breakers) and Lisa Ondiecki (I forgot her maiden name, She was a 2:24 Marathoner from Austrailia) had a son. They were both world class distance runners, any one have any idea if the kid is running?
Genes are one thing but hard work, determination, and life choices are a totally different subject. How many people do you think are out there with the 'genes' to break 3:40 in the mile or 9.75 in the 100m but just never did the work or even decided to run at all?
Don't confuse yourself with the inherritence of genes and the foolhardy belief of use and disuse and passing on of physical characteristics acquired over one's lifetime.
A few examples from the UK.
Lachie Stewart 10k Commonwealth champion 1970 28:10, his son Glen runs around 1minute slower.
Ron Hill Marathon Commonwealth Champ 1970 2:09. His son Graham runs around 2:25.
Bruce Tulloh European champ at 5k in the 1950s. Son Clive was a 31min 10k runner, but packed it up.
Chris Brasher Olympic champion steeplechase 1956(?). Son Hugh ran 8:50ish a few years ago.
Tom Bedford 16year old son of Dave is a promising distance runner and clocked 6:04 for 2k chase last week.
Ryan McLeod 18 year old son of Mike, also doing quite well.
Dave Moorcroft's son was quite good, but I think has now dropped out of the sport.
Paula Radcliffe's dad ran a 3:30 marathon.
Robbie & Ann Brightwell GB Olympic 400m runners in the 60s had a son who was pretty quick but now plays professional football (soccer to most of you guys).

She should be running 10,39sec or something like that, and if it was a boy, he should easliy run 9,55sec.

I am surpried that no one is beating Marion. Has she even run under 10.80 this season? Unless there is someone to really push her, I don't see her beating 10.49 anytime soon.

Doesn't Rudy Chapa have a son in high school who's pretty good. And Erin Belger at Cal Berkeley ran around 2:03 last year who's Parents Mark and Sue where both world class runners!
marion is beautiful. GOd i'm so sick of jealous people implying that naturally fast people that work hard must be on drugs. Was marion on drugs when she made an olympic team is HS!!, was she on drugs when she could dunk a basketball her frosh year in hs. She's always been a great athlete and her times really arent that unbeliveable arent they. She hasnt come close to 10.49. I mean if she's only running 10.8 with drugs she needs to sue her dealer.
