Ok, so most wouldn't consider me a "distance" guy, I'm a 400/800 runner, heavy on the 8. (49.0 / 1:53).
Anyways, I recently got a pair of Nike Maxcats, thinking the switch from my Milers would be beneficial for a runner of my type. While the sprint spikes felt great down the straights, they would torque a ridiculous amount on the turns, and they'd actually twist around my foot. While I've experienced this a bit with my Milers, it was nothing compared to how much I felt that this distracted me from the race.
I tried tying them tighter and looser for different races, but the results were always the same. Do I need to adjust my foot plant or something? I just can't believe that the same thing happens to all the sprinters I watch flying around turns in the 200 wearing the same shoes.
