Has anyone ever eaten at the Orleans House in Rosslyn, VA?
I hear it is being torn down, and has been around for 50+ years.
Should I take the wife for dinner?

"Why not?" I've been there (although not in years). Not a bad place to eat. Wonder why it's being torn down.
I ate there about 22 years ago before my prom. If I recall, it was really good. Of course, at that time in my life I would have been comparing it to McD's and Tippy's Taco House.
I once saw a man vomit in the riverboat salad bar at this restaurant.
No joke.
The worst part? They just took out the parts that had visible vomit on them and came back 2 minutes later with fresh refills.
I have not been back.
They are tearing it down b/c the owner received $24 million for the land, believe it or not.
They are going to build another office building there.
Roaches the size of your head, man.
They are the silent partners of that business.
I don't care how big the roaches were, the prime rib was excellent!

Never in 100 Million years would you believe me, but I was there that night!
The guy had a cowboy hat on, and he was obese beyond belief, am I right?
He threw up all over the bread side of the salad bar.
If it was not the same night, it has happened twice.
I HAVE been back since.
It was winter of 2002, I rememeber b/c I had to spend New Year's Eve at work that year, and we were talking about it at dinner that night.
And you won't believe me, but that was me puking my guts out after I saw a family of giant roaches swimming in the blue cheese dressing.
But I'll have you know that I went on Jared's subway diet, started running, and am now fast enough to post on Letsrun.
That would be funny, except everyone knows that in lieu of Bleu Cheese dressing, Orleans House has the green HOUSE dressing.
Next time put a little more effort into your post.
all choked up...first trip was in 1982, at the time it blew the doors off of Beefsteak Charlie's. Maybe not the best prime rib- but for the money certainly the biggest. And for the record, I thought the roaches gave the place character.
All you guys crack me up. I hope I didn't wake up the neighbors. Used to live up the road but never visited. Can't believe that small lot sold for that amount!!! No wonder a 500 sq. ft. condo sells for $300K in the area. Just crazy!!!
It would also be crazy if Orleans House could stay in business just a couple blocks down the road from a state of the art condo building where units go for over $2 million.
Oh, how time flies and things change.
Thanks for the funny posts.
bump.
i was there last week.
Ahhh, the Green Goddess dressing.
It's delicious, and makes an excellent paint remover as well.
It is not Green Goddess.
Green Goddess is an Annie's Organic dressing.
Believe me, nothing at Orleans House is organic.
The food at Orleans House has more of a day-glow look to it.

I don't believe it, but you are right. The guy did have a cowboy hat on, I cannot believe this, hahahahahaha.
I know, I wanted another slice of cornbread, how gross!!!!
Oh, I don't see how you can go back.
