It was hot and humid, probably 78 degrees, and raining about 6-8 miles in... any official resutls besides top 5 anywhere?
So that make Catherine Ndereba 1:09:20 performance alittle
more EXTRAODINARY (considering she was her only competition).

Full results anywhere?? they are not posted on the website yet.
Results are up. John Tuttle 2nd American.
Sorry, my bad. Must be the heineken talking... Tuttle wasn't 2nd American. Just look for yourself.
The results are up on the race's web page......
jersey_guy,
I assume you are talking about Anthony Debenedictis. He didn't race but I am curious as to what he is up to now. I saw he came in 3rd in the Run For Liberty 10K in NYC a couple weeks back. Do you know if he is planning on running a fall or spring marathon? When this guy is in shape he can run with anybody. It should be interesting if he chooses to try the distance out.
Anthony Debenedictis --- where was he? I have heard for months he would be in the Philly Half. Looks like Midland Run again, he was supposed to race there but when the big boys show up he skips town.
Did anyone notice that Steve Holman came in 109th? Is he running a fall marathon?
Anthony had in fact been aiming for the Jefferson Hospital Philadelphia DR for months. Unfortunately, in the 10 days or so before the race he developed some soreness in his foot, and this from a guy with a past stoked with stress fractures. After some easy days, he felt better, and he started the race.
And it only took a little bit of running to confirm that, yes, it was in fact a stress fracture. He made it to about halfway but couldn't continue and then an ambulance took over.
Tough break for a tough kid. He was getting pretty darn fit and this wasn't the only race on his fall schedule.
Joseph,
So it is indeed a stress facture? Damn that sucks. When we were at the Hall, I remember him having some problems with injuries. Hopefully he can get healthy and get back out there. What other races did he have on his fall schedule?
Did not speak with Anthony directly yesterday, maybe I will later this wk. But stressb fracture and and plantar fasciitis (same foot) is what i heard from some of the New Jerseyans who were on the scene.
Other races, nothing defionite, but as you know the guy likes XC.
Thanks for the input about Anthony. This really sucks. Hopefully he will recover quickly. I might drop by to his store this week or the next to see how he's doing... He was in really good shape for September too.
jersey_guy,
where is his store? i might stop by and check out their gear. thanks.
Anthony works at The Sneaker Factory, on Millburn Ave in Millburn, NJ, 973-376-6094
its me... yea, i went thru the 6 miles in 30:10 and finally called it at close to 7. i took about 7 days easy on grass, but really was in pain upon waking, i sucked down some advils and made a go at it. i felt great, could i have ran 1:06 and change? it was well in my grasp on sunday. i was pretty fit. i was planning a great fall with hartford half, then mayors cup, then the rotham 8k then the usa 10k xc meet... its going to be about 6 weeks until i can run again, but i will be on a bike until then for anyone who cares. i am planning a fall marathon for 2003, hopefully after a spring good track racing and some PR's... i did grab 3 pr's this summer at 4 and 5 miles and the 10k, 19:36, 24:16 (solo efforts) and then 30:56 all by myself. i skipped midland due to fatigue issues which came to surface at spring lake. for anyone who cares about how i am doing, THANKS. i did not know i had a following like this....
when the big boys are there anthony skips town??...that's a bunch of crap...anthony's times/training speak for themselves.
i did run philly... i wrote a post to let those know what happened adn what i did plan to do until injury surfaced. stress fracture and partially torn plantar fascia all in the right foot... bone scan will confirm the fracture, but the plantar fascia problem is confirmed... anyways, take a look at my first post... thanks for being concerned. much appreciated...
