i dont remember the exact reasons why but its dangerous to do in a pool if your trying to max out.
trying this underwater can be dangerous because if you pass out, your under water and could possibly drown.
that being said i've gone nearly 4 minutes before in a hottub, but with other people in there in case anything goes wrong. a hottub is a great enviornment to test your max in because the hot water helps to calm you.
