i've got a race this weekend, whats the best workout to prepare me for the race? I've only been doing race pace training for 2-3 weeks and i probably don't have the strength yet to run a really good time.

It's too close to race day to do more pace training like 8X400, unless you plan on training through the race--IF training through you might consider something like 3-4 X 800 roughly on pace with 4-5 min rest.
You best strategy for this one week is to plan 1-2 sessions of 200's or 300's exactly on pace with plenty of recovery, like 6X200 with 4-5 min rest AT 1500 pace, which gets you familiar with what race pace feels like, then run an even splits race on the weekend. Easy days as usual.
