Kipchoge ran 26:55, an apparent world best (it's a point-to-point course), according to the Spanish sports daily, MARCA. Tadesse second and Mottram third.
Jelena Prokopcuka won the women's race over Benita Johnson.

wicked fast race!
That's amazing running by the leaders as it's not the fastest course with some sustained climbing in later stages. Is that a 10k PB by mottram?

Can't be world record if it's point-to-point, only a world best.
Should the U.S. men be allowed to run in the women's races at the international level? 26:55 on the road is insanity. Browne was only a half mile behind--no worries.

Not a chance in the world that the times will be ratified for record purposes. Point-to-point and downhill.

Keeper of Record is right. The course, although certified for distance, is severely aided, losing 55 meters from start to finish according to a graphic on the race website. So, no world record or national records in Madrid last night.
Nonetheless, that's some mighty fast running...
