As a distance runner I will take a day off here or there but never take two days off unless for injury or inbewteen seasons because i dont want to lose fitness. Some sprinters on my team are taking three days off because we dont have practice for 3 days. Do sprinters lose fitness like distanc erunners do or can they still manage to come out after 3 days of running, run a light practice and than run in a meet and run well. My SMR is running wednesday and I just found out our 400 guy hasnt run so I made him go outside right now and run 8 striders hard. He is normally a 51 guy if he runs the striders and runs light tomorrow can I still expect him to go 51? The 200 guys on my team are not runnign for these 3 days and i dont know there s/n. Am I screwed?
