30" in the pool is about 1000m, and to get the run equivalent it would be about 4 times the distance you swam....(4000m run, or just short of 3mile run)
If you swim with a good technique a 30 swim is good, but if you just swim without doing intervals in the water, your improvement won`t be as good.
A 60`bike ride will confer more benefit, especially if it includes hills.....and the sixty minute bike ride is equivalent to about a 4 mile run.....

I don't know what this guy is talking about.
When I got hurt I would swim 2 miles in under an hour so 1000 in a half hour is not a good estimate if you are going at a decent pace. but it also depends on you fitness and swimming abilities.
You can swim without intervals and get better improvement. IF you swim for 30 minutes straight you are building your aerobic components. it is just like running you don't want to do intervals as soon as you get off an injury you go back into building your base work. Technique has little to do with it cause swimming is not running specific.
Aqua jogging is a little better than biking because it is more specific to running. 60-90 minutes on a bike compared to 30 joggin may provide more benifet. forget about doing the hills and stuff for the same reason to avoid swimming or for that matter running intervals.
My advice would be to alternate aqua joggin, swimming, and biking. Thast way you don't get bored as quick. When I was hurt and building back I built up to swim 2 miles then I would aqua jog for 20 minutes after. then the next day I would bike for 40 min to an hour. I got back into shape quickly doing this.
