My Girlfriend (not a runner) constantly struggles with her weight. I don’t think she needs to lose weight, but she would just like to lose about 10lbs. Normally she just doesn’t eat much and loses the weight. As soon as she starts eating normal again the weight comes back.
So I have gotten her to watch what she eats (still only like 1,000 calories a day), not starve herself and workout. She normally does the elliptical 4 to 5 times a week for about 30 minutes. This is followed by variety of abdominal work for 15-20 minutes.
So the problem is she has actually gained weight. At first I thought her body was building some muscle, then she would burn off fat. I can only get her to workout for so long before she goes back to starving herself. She needs to at least see some results, or at the very least maintain her current weight.
I have no idea what to tell her? She is doing what I told her to do, and it isn’t working? Any ideas why? I thought about telling her to go to the doctor, get some blood work done. Could she have some sort of deficiency or imbalance that would cause this? Anyone have any ideas?
