if you see the you tube finish of him sprinting past gamoudi, that was fast, what was his last lap, or should i say last 100m time?

I think the last 400 was 60.0. His last 100 does look amazing, my guess it was around 13.0.
Mohammed Gamoudi had a blazing kick in that race too. It makes me wonder where he would have finished had he not fallen with Laase Viren in the Munich 10,000. It's tempting to say that Viren was tougher than Gamoudi, since Gamoudi dropped out and Viren went on to win in a world record. But I'm sure Gamoudi would have gotten up and resumed running had he been able to. He must have taken a nastier fall than Viren did.
wasnt viren later discovered that he was doing somthin like blookd transfusions or etc, i just remember seeing the 5000 of him and pre, and the running store guy was telling a new guy what later found out
Gamoudi was not injured in his 10,000 meter fall. He just didn't have the stones. He didn't have Sisu. Viren did.
I read an article that was about why U.S. distance runners are not successful which was from the viewpoint of Mills. It was written years ago. They mentioned in the article that Mills last 200 was 25.2
I am relying on memory but the 25 I am certain about, the .2 could be off.
Thanks for the inspirational video.
1964 was a very good year for American distance runners.
billy mills was such a wuss.
all that crap about "oh i risked everything."
but he dropped out of half of his races that year cause he was broken inside. whatever, the guy has the guts to put it together for one race but can't hold it together for a season?
what the hell is wrong with that man.
he did nothing good until that race. one race should not make him a legend.
i vote to exile him from our memory.
Damn! I thought the punk pimpled immature shits were the only ones that started crap on the board. Old man, it will never leave your memory. He must of whipped your ass so much that you are still holding a grudge. How many good runners(legends)had great seasons, and could never put it together at the olympics? Move on you geriatric twit, and make sure you take your vitamins.
I always thought that Billy Mills story is one of the all time interesting/inspiring sport stories.I have the movie on Mills and it's not bad but it's not great.I sure would like someone such as Neal Baescomb the author of The Perfect Mile to write a book on Mills.

Hey moron!
Did you forget that Billy Mills broke the World Record in the event 8 months later. By doing that, he proved he was the real deal.

looks like you're the moron here. he set the world record in the 6 mile, you loser. that's a big difference those extra 345 or so meters or so.
