Steve Scott taking after a 59 and leading a 1:56? Coe zoning out in the Moscow 800? Morceli in Barcelona?
YouTube is the greatest thing on the internet. Although I didn't find what I was looking for to fire me up for a run after work (the most exciting race of all time-Montreal 5000 which I have seen many times) I did find one race I never saw-the 1500 in Montreal.
After watching the entire VHI "Behind the Music" epsiode of Keith Moon and also got awesome early clips of the greatest American band of all-time The Replacements (1981-Tommy was like 14!) I did finally watch the Montreal 1500.
WTF was Eamonn Coghlan thinking? The greatest short kicker takes the lead after Moorcrofts 62. And stays there until he's a sitting duck for Walker. Van Damme I don't know what was known about him. I can only guess Eamonn was trying to be in good position, while Van Damme hung back and Walker was in a perfect spot the whole time. Wolhuter was all over the place.
Just never saw that race before. No Liquori or Bayi. Wasn't Coghlan the biggest threat going in to Walker? Certainly not the rest of the field.
