i just used google earth to mark out what i'm pretty sure is the chile pepper course (10k). according to this method, the course is only 6.05 miles, which would leave it approximately 350 yards short of 10k.

Sounds right to me. The course's times are alwayws too fast for the course to be legit. It's probably as fast as a Stanford or Euro 10,000 race on a cool evening in late spring on a super-fast track.

You all have way too much time on your hands. I guess we all do because we're posting on letrun, but it seems that basing a course distance on google earth is pretty lame. Not to trash google earth or anything, i know it's a great program, but it hardly seems like a solid basis of argument. I'd like to see someone measure the course with a wheel or something before I said it was a quarter mile short.
