I wear Reebok Premier Road Lite right now. I'm switching over to asics, which shoe should I get? The DS-Trainer appears to be the closest, but I'm no expert. Anyone?

DS-Trainer is definitely the most like the Road Lite. It sounds like you want a lightweight trainer, yeah? If not the DS-Trainer, you could be bold and go for the Speedstar! It may only last 150 miles, but it's sweet. Light and cushy. If not a lightweight shoe-and you're neutral-check out the Nimbus...
Thanks

I was thinking about picking up a pair of Speedstars for my next marathon. Is it true that they break down that quickly?
How much different are the Speedstar II's versus the original version?
I'm thinking of switching to Asics as well.
I'm currently running in the Brooks Glyerine 4.
I'm racing in the DS Racer VII and like them a lot so I think a switch to Asics trainers might be worth it.
Does anyone have a suggestion which Asics trainer would be a good transition from the Brooks Glyerine 4.
Thanks
I am getting close to 400 miles out of speedstars, I am on my second pair of the 2nd edition. As for differences from the original, the fit is the same, a little lighter overall, still cushy and really the only shoe in its class.

I have been training in the Gel Landreth. Absolutely love the shoe. Great neutral everyday trainer...

I also run in and recommend the Speedstar's. I am on my second pair of Speedstar II's and got just over 400 miles on the first pair. I also have a pair of the new Asics DS-Trainers that I use very rarely...I like the Speedstar's so much more. Great shoes, I hope they never stop making them!
Anyone else like the Speedstar?
Is the Speedstar comparable to the Hayward/Skylon? I really like that line, but don't especially care for the evil empire that makes them.
the Gel Lyte is back my friend. google it.
I've been uusing the Landreth's for the last year and 1/2, and love them too.
