The weather in the midwest (Chicago/SE Michigan) has cooled off in the last 10 days. Instead of low 80s, it's now the low 60s.
I run about 40 miles a week. I run based on how my body feels and monitor it with my watch. The 20 or so degree drop has me running about 25 to 30 seconds faster per mile during a "moderate" 6 mile run (from 7:30 to 7:00).
Does this difference sound right to you?
One more piece of info. I HATE running in hot weather. I LOVE running in cold weather. I'm one of the crazies you see in shorts and a singlet when it's 30 outside. So, is it I'm getting more "excited" to run in cooler weather (which is true) or does a drop in temp. actually make that much difference?
