When is Haile Gebrselassie running his next marathon? Where?
And how fast do you think can run it? can he take Tergat's WR?
My opinon- if he is in the form he was in at Phoenix where he ran his 58:55 half marathon then he will run a sub-2:04.

did this post time machine in from February or something? he ran at London and bonked. He is running Berlin in a few weeks and is making no claims about his time except he will run fast and try for the win.
Don't forget. The weather has to be PERFECT.
Tergat had that. Low humidity. Next to no wind.
Not to mention WR pacing for the entire distance. His rabbit tried to win, and almost pulled it off.
Paul would have gotten the WR anyway. Korir's awesome performance simply insured that it would be a more significant lowering of KK's time.
If Korir had dropped out, Paul might have come in around 2:05:30. Sammy hanging in probably had him running 5 sec/mile faster the last 10k than he would have run alone.
he will at least run a world leading time, if he has good weather. and hes 33 so hes got quite a few more marathons left to take the world record lower
I just checked the splits from Tergat's WR.
Through 30k they had averaged 4:48/mile, which would have just matched KK's WR. They needed 4:47 pace for the WR.
From 10k to 30k they were in fact averaging 4:47.
When they saw the 30k split of 1:29:25, they knew that they were right on pace. It was then that they picked it up, to make sure they got the WR. There was a 3rd runner with Paul and Sammy- Titus Munji, however, he was dropped at 37k, after they began really hammering at 36k, running the next 3 K in 4:37 pace.
For the last 12.2k they averaged 4:41. And the final 2195 meters was run at 4:37 pace.
no. nobody can break tergats record, unless it is tergat himself. he could break his record again.

Geb is one of the greatest of all time no question.
What I do question is his age! I have a strong feeling he is a lot older. He did run that amazing half but 2:04:55 is unreal. Too bad both those guys couldn't be in shape at the same time and duke for a full full.
