Which runner ranks higer than the other one?
I realize Steve Scott has run more sub 4 min miles but he has no Olympic Medals to show for his efforts.
Wolhutter medaled in both the 800 and 1500 in Montreal.
Therefore, does Wolhutter get a higher ranking than Scott since many people on this board like to stress medaling in an Olympics as the most important judging point?

Wohlhuter was 1974 athlete of the year by TFN.

Wolhuter finished 6th in the 1500m in Montreal.
Wohlhuter's 1:43.5y (~1:42.78), 2:13.9 > Scott's 3:47.68
He never ram 1:43.5y, that was his metric time convered from yards (1:44.1).
Both guy were studs, but RW takes the prize for me.

But Rick was certainly a better miler than Scott was an 800 runner.
Wolhuter was a runner of the Coe variety prior to Coe - light and quick. Awesome 400 speed and a 3:53 miler in 1975 when that time still meant something. Plus, he also still has both of his testicles - which means he probably never took steroids.
El Caballo was the most impressive 800 M man.
