I have returned to running for about 4 weeks after an injury. Now I'm having a problem with recurring stomach cramps in the same place.
It hurts like 4 inches above my bellybutton, slightly to the right, and it feels like a stabbing, cramping pain. I get this cramp usually when I'm running, but it will sometimes hurt after I eat or drink a lot and take a deep breath. Or it just hurts when I'm walking around. When I get it running, it usually happens at the beginning of my run and will often go away. Today, it cramped sooo bad after an hour of running so that it was debilitating and I seriously couldn't run upright. On the very first steps of my runs, it sometimes hurts up by my ribs too. And I sometimes get these pains when I'm cross training on the elliptical or on the bike.
Has anyone ever had this before or know what could be wrong with me? I don't think it's eating---I get cramps if I have a full stomach or an empty one, so I can't see a correlation there. Sometimes my stomach doesn't cramp at all. My stomach doesn't hurt when I do situps. I see a chiropractor regularly because my SI joint often gets locked up. Could it be that I'm having a back spasm that is shooting pain to the front?
This problem is mostly just an annoyance, but sometimes it really affects my training, and it's just painful. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
