this is the best news today.
"The IAAF said it gave little credence to Graham's claim that Gatlin was the victim of a massage therapist who rubbed testosterone cream on his legs without his knowledge.
"We have a strict liability rule that what's in your body is your responsibility, so unless there was an independent witness who saw everything clearly there really isn't a possibility that there would be something in that," Davies said."
and these quotes come from an article saying that graham could be banned for 2 years if gatlin is banned.
http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/trackandfield/news/story?id=2535356i think it is far worse morally for a coach to instruct an athlete to take PEDs than for an athlete to take PEDs of his/her own volition.
the coach stands to gain money and fame while putting relatively little at risk (the coach can continue coaching other athletes - see trevor graham). meanwhile, the athlete is risking his/her livelihood and good name. maybe the athlete knowingly weighs the pros/cons, but in my mind the coach has a lot of influence.
graham has profited off guys like montgomery and gatlin while ruining their chances to make a decent living from track and field.
on a different note, gatlin should definitely start working on his football skills. the nfl has no problem with steroid users.
