Makes the excitement over last year's 13:teens U.S. performances seem almost ignorant.

Baby steps ttc. Baby steps.
Really exciting stuff. What progress he's made this year!
I don't know his strength, but IMO Teg is fit enough to break the U.S. 10K record.
I am doing a Teg Stand!!!

That was my thought as well.
Things are about to get crowded between 13:00 and 13:10 in the U.S. 5,000:
--Lagat's 12:59 from last year
--Teg's 13:04.90
--Goucher's 13:10 on an evening so warm they had a sponge table set up for a 5,000 (have to think there's a few more seconds there on a cooler night)
--Webb's 13:10 from last year (his 27:34 certainly indicates he could have gone faster if healthy this year) and
--Broe's 13:11 from last year.
Why would he even think about the 10k. He just ran a 13:05 5k.!
Amazing how the two guys flying under the radar in Dan Lincoln and Teg are putting up the most superlative performances. Those two have a legitimate shot at sub-13. I didn't think Teg would improve so much this year, but he's obviously got more in the tank. Raises the bar for Goucher. And to think, last year no one was talking about Teg at all.
agree..
bunch of punk ass posters who only think of themselves...
Did anyone watch the race on WCSN???
Was Teg struggling? How did the race play out??
60s last lap
The 5k and 10k work together. It's easier to run a fast 10k than it is to run a fast 1500m when you are well prepared for a peak 5k.
He ran an even pace all thorough the race sitting behind the main pack of about 10 runners. He looked amazingly strong and composed.
pretty ideal for him. it went out fairly fast and he tucked in near the back. he gradually moved up and the guys he passed would fall off the pack, so he was at the back of the pack most of the race. last kilo it strung out but he had a couple guys around him to race. couldn't imagine a better situation for him to be in.
Ritz shut it down too early..he should have been in this race, he was only tick behind Teg at US nationals and could have done the same here, ended with a nice pr and still had time to rest and train for New York.

Unfortunately he did nothing last year or even in the previous 4 years to warrant discussion. Hopefully that comment of yours was props for Tegenkamp and not slamming those who didn't bring his name up. Pretty sure he has surprised everyone with his stellar times this season. More good things to come from him for sure.
wow
