Great run by Mo. Hopefully will act as an inspiration for some up and coming British distance runners. The stick for the AAA's was like water off a duck's back especially when Mo had this race to focus on.
As for Europeans still think a guy like Cragg would be at another level. Cant see Mo hanging with Cragg over a blistering last 400.
Thompson on the other hand had a disapointing run. Still think he needs to grow up and realize what being a full time athlete means.
Where was this race? Anyone got a link to results?
Thanks
Euro men's 5k could be a v close race, certainly based on times in 2006. 'cos the GL circuit barely has space for Euro guys at 5k these days I think that the leading contenders rarely race each other over the distance. french and SPanish champs/trials this w/end should sort out several of the leading contenders.
Terrific run! Congratulations! That is a massive break through and sure there is some more to come - Euros will certainly be close, as for Mo not being able to cope with Craggs blistering 400m, 52.1 last lap at the European Cup, he's in with a good shout! Good luck Mojo!
Well done Mo! About time! Quinwedge is right.....can Cragg hang with Mo?
Good luck in Gothenburg!
To be fair to thompson he didnt have a full winter, he was injured all last year. Any season he had ths year would have been affected by the lack of background.
If he runs quicker this year than his 13.31 earlier this year he will have done well.
Thompson's time will come. It's great to see him back running after being injured last year.

Mr Quinn - are you allowed to use public noticeboards to promote your employees?! Next you'll be saying he raced like a Real Runner (TM)
Awesome run by Farah he has always been destined to be Britains best distance hope since he has progressed through the age groups as a youngster. No doubt training with Craig Mottram will have brought about big improvements as well. He will run sub 13 minutes certainly in the next couple of years.
It's not like Farah will fade during the season....Mottram never fades...because he keeps the mileage high all the time.
Farah is in the right company....he will run sub 13 in the coming years, and definately medal at he euro champs, no doubt.

the sign of a real cynic! im sure Kev was talking of Mo as a friend not a business opportunity.
Well done Mo great running. I think Thommo's attitude as improved tremendously in recent times from the brief encounters ive had with him. Last night was a dissapointin run from im but i dont think that makes him a bad runner. With the winter hes had and the ammount of training hes still able do hes havin a fantastic summer and when you dont have the base behind you it is often inevitable that you will be a little inconsistant.
hopefully Mo will have inspired him (and McCormick) and after a full winter we will 3 guys under 13.10 next year!
Ian Hamer, Tim Hutchings, Brendan Foster, Dave Bedford, Chris Chataway....you boys took one hell of a beating.
God the painful thing about these message boards is that there's no room for irony (or did I write clumsily). For avoidance of doubt, I'm not sure that either what MF did in Heusden last night nor what Kev Quinn has set up to try and smooth the work/life/run balance for some of GB's best distance runners AND simultaneously spread the pleasures of running allows for cynicism. There's none from me anyway.
dont worry david i was just kiddin anyway!
wheres all the excitement though? surely this is what weve all been waitin for?
wheres the sensationalism? Farah to break 13! Britian back to the top of the distance running tree! bekele watch out here come the brits. we are great again etc etc.
Wow, England finally has a good distance runner.
actually he is not british, he is somalia origin.
allways, ethiopian f** somali a**. it will be the same thing in track be it 5000mr or 10000mr
You can be British and be of Somali origin.
He is British by nationality but genetically he is no different from the Africans he is competing with, he has been handled well through the age groups and improved year on year and deserves great credit but the argument a lot of the time on here is that Europeans/Americans can/can't compete with the Africans, Mo's performance is great but doesn't answer any of these questions.
a number of runners of somalian origin are in the UK but none are as good as Mo. He's been here for years and he is very much a 'product' of the UK - although it's worth noting that he has improved greatly after hooking up with Mottram.
