I was looking at the pictures of a local 10 mile race. I noticed the guy leading at the start didn't look like the lighter weight fast looking guys. Something wasn't right. I was right. I looked up his result from his number. 9 minute pace! The bottom 3rd of the field.
I been in other local races where little kids line up in front. They don't know any better. Its too bad one kid got trampled at one of these races.
Shouldn't the person starting the race and giving the pre-race instructions try to keep the first 3 rows for the faster runners?? It would make it safer and smoother.
