Will he break 1:43 sometime in his career? I personally think he will not, but I know it will be awfully close.

Uhhh... no. Breaking 1:43 means sub 1:42.99.
well if KR is a sub 143 guy that means he will be the #1 or #2 800m runner in the world. think about the guys who have gone under 143 in the past few years:
2001: bucher, borza, nduwimana borza is olympic champ, and bucher in 2001 was the man winning lots of euro races and the world title
2002: kipketer, bungei, yiampoy kipketer needs no explanation and the other 2 kenyans have been near the top for the past few years
2003: bungei, mulaudzi bungei again
2004 and 2005: no one broke 143
as you can see only 7 guys have been under 143 since 2001. that is pretty rarified air and only 3 guys in one season have done it in the past 3 years. KR seems to be having a great season this year and is really improving his times as well as his racing abilities. if he gets through the next 2-3 years healthy then he definitely has a shot. if bucher ever got back to 2001 form, KR and him could produce some great times.
remember that only 20 men in history have gone sub 143. it is a very tough barrier to break and takes a special combination of speed, endurance, and luck on the right day to do. good luck to KR in his quest to become one of the top 800m runners in the world. he could be a big US medal hope in 2008.
would have to go the epo route, hopefully he's not that kind of guy.
have to agree with you. possibly, but unlikely. he'll get lower though no doubt about it.
