I just started watching soccer and I was wondering: how would the best European club teams (arsenal, barcelona, etc) do against the best World Cup (i.e. national) teams. Is it a close call, or is one group of teams clearly superior?

club teams are much better because they play together for years as opposed to weeks - it wouldnt even be a contest if one compares the top club teams to the top national teams
plus, club teams recruit players from all nations and aren't limited in the talent pool.
if you put chelsea against italy and the result was in doubt, abramovich would probably just go and buy the whole italian squad, the coach, the fans and the guys who drive down the street beeping their horns with italian flags sticking out the sun roof.
italy might respond by buying the ref.
too close to call.
Post of the day - very funny to those who understand what he is talking about.
real madrid for the win
lol good post.
You may hear reference to the UEFA Champions League on WC broadcasts. This is a "league" of the greatest clubs in the world to find a world champion club. It's kind of like if the World Series really was a WORLD Series.
I have seen some of the games and they are better than the WC games (I think), because of the reasons stated above. Multi-National Club teams who play together all the time.
Chelsea certainly have more talent than any national team, with Crespo, Drogba, Essien, Terry, Cech, etc. But past the top few club teams, I think the national sides have more depth.
