I didn't watch much of it but what I did see seemed to be so inferior to the game yesterday. Poor passes, poor ball control and just kind of boring.
It might be that I just can't watch consecutive days of soccer.
I loved yesterday's match.

its soccer. its all boring.
It really wasn't all that exciting. I'd say it was fairly good soccer, but there weren't that many shots(except the last few minutes were pretty exciting), and it sucks to have a game won on a PK. Portugal sure missed a chance when the French goalkeeper coughed up the ball and Figo I believe headed it over the net. He had a wide open goal.
sub-par performance by Zidane as well; he just seemed a bit lethargic (perhaps injured, or not quite recovered?). Sagnol and Ribery have really made their mark in this French team though. Henry... well, he's never played well for France. He does score goals now and again, but he is just not suited to this team.
The thing about France is that they seem to really raise their game when they face quality opposition. And Portugal doesn't quite cut it with their inability to score goals. The French just had to seat on the result once they scored, nothing was going to happen (unless a blunder by Barthez, which was nearly the case).
That just made for a boring game.
For me, France-Brasil was the game of the tournament; and it would have made a wonderful final. France-Italy... I wouldn't hold my breath... I think it'll probably be a fairly similar game to todays. I'm guessing France will win though, buoyed by its supporters.
No matter how great the results this current team achieves though, they are nowhere near as good as the Platini/Giresse/Tigana team of the late 70s. That's the irony of the world cup I guess, where a real class team can find itself eliminated at any of the stages.
