I was wondering if there is anyone on this board who studies the physiology of altitude training. I recently moved to boulder, it took me a couple weeks to become acclimatized to the base altitude of 5400'. However, i went to do some speedwork the other day and it was extremely hard to hit splits that were pretty easy to hit at sea level. My question; is there a formula or study that explores the correlation between altitude and velocity and possibly effort (heart rate)?.
