5000m track event, prize money, Rochester Hills, MI

Can highschoolers run it? I live in Rochester Hills BTW and go to Rochester High School.

It is open to all runners. Just don't accept the prize money if you plan on running in highschool or college. We'd love to have you run.

Will you be pacing the elite women and interfering with the race like you did in Chicago last year?

wow i think a new low has been set on the forums of letsrun. on pointless threads i can understand a little tongue in cheek but when someone is trying to be productive and actually give something to the running community you come in and insult that? take that somewhere else.

is there a website for the event? also is there a list of some of the elite entrys yet?? and what time would it take to qualify for the elite division?

Due to a very generous donation from John Conely at the Austin Marathon Foundation, we are raising our prize money structure to pay 5 deep now instead of 2. Overall top finishers in the Invitational race will recieve cash awards as follows: 1st-$500, 2nd-$300, 3rd-$200, 4th-$150, 5th-$100.

The starting time intervals have also been established and are as follows:

Masters women: 3:00 head start

Open women: 2:00 head start

Masters men: 1:00 head start.

Great event, great website. A few logistical questions...What is the exact schedule for the race? Approximatly how many entrants are expected? Are there two heats and one of them is for all comers and one is elite? How fast do you have to run to make the elite field? With the 3min, 2min, 1min stagers, aren't there going to be people all over the track ensuing chaos?

I wondered the same thing. They mess up the DMR indoors all the time and that is less distance. I hope you have about 20 spotters working the finish line.
