Currently heading into my sophomore season. 6’2 and weighed 177 ish last fall into this spring. In the last 2 months I’ve cut down to 165, but hit a bit of a standstill. Wondering if it’s necessary or beneficial to go lower, ideally to the 155 range. My pr’s are 25:30 in the 8k, 3:54 in the 1500, 8:35 in the 3k and 9:20 in the steeple. I’m cutting weight purely to be a better and more efficient runner but want to make sure I’m doing it safely, 1-1.5 lbs a week and if this will improve my running? I eat whole foods and energy is high right now just wondering if I keep going? I don’t want to get injured but I was the heaviest runner on my team last year.
