Good performances. I will admit that my first thought is Stockholm 1500 has 18, I really don’t why Hakon Moe Berg gets a lane in that bloated a field (I get it in Oslo). Prakel more deserving now but in general less politics and smaller fields.

Attaoui is an excellent candidate to break Ngeny's 1k record with his combination of 1:41/3:31.
He is but Wanyonyi is an even better candidate. I wonder what event he ends up choosing this year. He is a tweener. His 800m tactics are too elementary à la early career Symmonds. Symmonds evolved and was able to medal as a result. Sandbagging is never going to beat the superior sandbagger (Sedjati) nor the strong guys up front (Wanyonyi, Arop, Burgin).
Yeah he is another one. It is unusual to be a 48xx guy who can break 13, although almost none of them can do both in the same year of course.
I would disagree. I think Centro could have run 48.98 at some point. The same for Bekele, Morceli, El G, etc.
What are you disagreeing with? Centro never broke 13. Neither did Morceli. Hicham was the best we have seen, not in the same league as Rupert and Almgren. Bekele could not run 48 though.
Very strong finish from Attaoui. He's a dangerous man in a championship race.
Indeed.
1:42.04 and 3:31.82
He may end up with bests similar to Coe.
If he does end up with similar times, it wouldn't really be as good, taking into account tech improvements. He'd have to run faster than Coe in each event by a considerable margin.
Ruppert 12:57.61 in 5000, but lost to another German, Florian Bremm who ran 12:56.80.
Well since one is being so heavily censored here, I will just say that his 48.98 and 12:57 are not typical.
I don't care about his 400, but look at his other PBs and progression. It doesn't make a lot of sense. And he's 25 but looks like he was around to witness the first ever marathon. That guy must have had a tough paper round as a kid
