Welcome to another season of MIAC Cross Country! Is the MIAC turning a new leaf in the big twenty six? Will we see more St. Olaf dominance, or will an unassuming underdog usurp the distance throne? Word on the street is some rosters have been augmented and bolstered by a mighty freshman class; the Cobber's, the Gusties, even rumors of the Cardinals securing a formidable new lot.
Surely Cole Stencil of St. Johns is eyeing the individual title, but it's not going to come without a fight from the likes of Hootie Hage of Bethel, John Ihrke of Macalester, who will surely be spurred on by his inopportune injury before outdoor conference, Tyler Goss of the Cobber's, and a host of voracious Oles seeking to maintain their yoke of the conference.
With the promising star Claire Vukovics departed and Preisser taking her leave from Carleton, that may afford St. Olaf a chance at the title. The ones to watch will surely be Slavin of St. Mary's, Tittel of Carleton, Norquist and Fox of Macalester, and Niemi of St. Scholastica. But as with any season, mere predictions are worthless as anything can happen. We shall see how this unfolds.
People of the MIAC! Commence the great deliberations and jests as a wonderful and exciting season is upon us!
