A lap optimizer I found puts it at 3:29.12
Seems excessive to me but wow - closing in 53.59 is more than legit. Was paced to at least 1100 though
He looked like he could go faster. It's just a matter of time before we see a sub 3:30 at the NCAA level.
My goodness the train of 1500m guys does not stop.

Absolutely incredible performance. However, thought he and Burns were insufferable before? This sure won’t good.
oh my god 2nd place was 3:39? I see he got like 1100m of pacing but oh my god he closed in 53.5 he has arrived
DANG! And winning by 8 seconds. I guess Jerry can coach 1500 guys 👀
Phenomenal !!! Always wondered when he was going to fulfill the incredible promise he showed in HS (1:47.9, 3:37.9, 3:57.5y, 8:34.1y). Speed and strength.
Fantastic job. This will certainly instill tremendous confidence in young Simeon.

yeah after his 2nd indoors I wasn't sure he was quite there because he only got 2nd because of DQs or something, right? Seems like I was wrong though, he's definitely a favorite for the title. The title is wide open, as the 1500 title is on the national and world level, and as we've seen the last couple years, it takes being a 3:30-31 guy to win a 1500m title if you want to outkick the 3:32-34 UW guys. Him closing in 53 for 3:31 though? Sheesh
Sheesh this is a real breakout à la Strand’s. Birnbaum was a monster talent in HS but it’s really come together quickly after an encouraging but not amazing freshman year. Future of this event is so bright for the US.
M1500 at the NCAA level quickly went from murky to now loaded with McFarland, Sahlman, and Birnbaum looking like they’re in monster shape.
Un frickin real. How many men have EVER front run a 3:31, much less front run a 3:31 and closed in 53? Let's get Colin, Simeon, and Trent into a 1500 together. One of those guys will go 3:29.
Did anyone see a clip of it. Looks like 800+ paced by Palfrey, maybe 1,000?

On BIG10 Network+ only or something. Runnerspace will have the video tomorrow on-demand, hopefully they post it on YouTube for all to see
Wow! I remember when he was a highschooler I thought he had tremendous potential…so happy to see it REALLY happen
Hocker will unfortunately never win another US title at 1500m
Crazy to think he didn't even turn it up until the pacer left.

Are we taking about the Cole Hocker who's 1500 PR is 4 whole seconds faster?
The same Cole Hocker who also ran 3:31 at age 20?

Interestingly he just said he hasn’t managed to finish a Jerry threshold session for 2 years
The world needs to take notice. This guy is coming for you!!!
