According to Strava looks like a double threshold session today. 6x1 mile and 20x400. Looking forward to seeing the continuation of his growth and progression this summer.

He has a tremendous future i don’t know why anyone wouldn’t have great expectations for him. What is it about his abilities had you dozing off?

Hes one of those runners who will never win anything of note

We're all waiting for jakob to return.
Well he’s 23 and he’s won a World Road Mile championship and is a 2x national indoor champ. So I guess your bar is high if only a world outdoor championship is “of note” but I actually think his kick for the 2000 AR over Fisher showed some nice improvement in tactics and closing speed. With his 800 ability I think he could absolutely still win something “of note.”

my god how I miss jakob
Evwn if Jakob fully recovers, he should stick to the 5k. The younger guys in the 1500m are getting stronger and stronger, and they are much quicker in terms of leg speed and 800 ability. That includes Kessler who seems to have made a nice jump during indoors.

He already got Olympic gold in 1500m and reigned dominant 2020-2024 so yeah I agree, time to focus on 5k-10k and rack up some wins.

Can we please not have this thread be about Jakob? There are already dozens of threads about Jakob. This thread is supposed to be about Kessler.
Kessler being healthy and doing quality training is good news.

Yep, and Kessler is still very young, though I would argue he’s really in his “peak” years when the 2028 games come around. Very talented 800/1500 runner who should be capable of more if he can stay healthy.
Jakob will never factor over 1500 again, so I would agree with those who say he should move to 5000 and even 10,000 going forward, though I worry that he’s never going to quite make it back. Just very hard to come all the way back from an injury like his.

Asterisk Olympics and weakest competition. Doesn't count. Jakob is the most overhyped and overrated runner of this generation.
Two Olympic golds. 4 World Championship gold (2 indoor). The first European literally in about 40+ years who when the world's best runners line up on the start line, you expect him to win. PB of 3:26/7:17/12:48.

Do you have any idea of how much time he missed? His 2k was the the improvement performance I saw from a miler all indoor.
