well Lananna does definitely tamper with athletes but it does seem funny that brosnan has many pages of threads hating on him for his tampering but nobody cares when established coaches do it

This is bazar. The running world goes crazy when Brosnan talks to a long toke friend and the NCAA finds zero tampering and when Ben Thomas actually has evidence against him no one talks about him. No texts, no offers, no proof = violation from Brosnan. But when there is evidence on Ben Thomas, we all suddenly lose interest.
Part of the reason this is not widely discussed is because Thomas brought this woman on illegally, but Sykes is probably the main culprit.
Seems like the tampering has to do with a Kenyan long distance runner under Sykes at Akron. Thomas took her on (has not really worked out) along with Sykes. Was she a "ghost transfer"? He may of told he her was going to Va Tech and she should follow him there.
The Akron coaching staff probably said good riddance to the athlete, but protested the legality of everything to stick it to Va Tech.

If there’s actual evidence, fine, own it. But in Brosnan’s case, there’s no tampering evidence, so the NCAA expands the rule to include basic human interaction. That’s not ‘credible and sufficient information,’ that’s manufactured enforcement. Thomas cheats and no big deal…….
